23rd-Jan-2009 01:52 pm - Singing Tumor
NWOSSOA

I just thought I would tease you all with a horrible photo of what I have been working on lately.  It is a receptacle for a singing tumor.  A sort of reliquary.  The tumor itself came from the belly of a renowned belly dancer and it is the size of a baseball.  The base is an all oak hexagon with brass accents (what else?).  The jar is held on with a steel cage.  It has a light under the jar and a sound system built in so it will sing.  You are seeing one of the backsides with an industrial plug system being utilized to keep it alive.  I will post the final shots when I am done.  I still have a long way to go.  It will also receive a custom sleeping cover of velvet with a tassel on the top and curtain that will be able to be pulled open to reveal the tumor suspended in the center of the jar.  Enjoy

This Watch Cuff was discovered on the wrist of an iceman who was found among the hills of the Antarctic.  We found that with time travel only gears and leather could pass through the vortex leaving behind any digital objects.  This man, thought to have been frozen since the Mesozoic period, was a poor lost soul of DinoCo, a company using time travel to learn about the past.  The watch is all wind up with nothing but leather and brass holding it together.  The leather is strong and thick and there are clock gears throughout.  This piece of history is being sold off at the link below.

But seriously, bills are pilling up and Trundle manor is being run into the proverbial mud.  The collection will never be sold but I am making another attempt to produce my signature cuffs.  I hope you visit my link. and help keep the modern wunderkammer afloat.

NWOSSOA
Hello all you proper time ticker proponents. I have found it within my eternal switch swatch to produce another slight variant of my Time Strap 2. I hope you like the change. It's a little larger and has a gauntlet point at the far end. You would definitely get looks if you wore this in public. What do you guys think?

NWOSSOA
Forgive my slow movements uppon the message boards. My life has taken a small turn downward. I have found it in my personal nature to turn away from technology and bright glowing boxes (computers) when in distress. This is something I struggled with for a good amount of time and I have come up with a nice simple yet striking piece. It is up for auction HERE but I am writing because I would really like to hear your opinions.

3rd-Sep-2008 08:49 am - Modern Wunderkammer Needs Ideas
NWOSSOA

Hello all you collectors of the extraordinary and creators of the same.  I am taking the time to post this to ask for your opinions on matters of the future.  As some of you know I have been amassing a strange portion of macabre interest in an attempt to present awe and to instill wonder in those who would visit my home, Trundle Manor.  thessoa.com shows only a small sample of the experience you would get from entering my cabinet of curiosities.
Alas I am feeling a vast passing of ideas on drawing those interested to my lair.  I would like to take it to the next level and work towards having a modern day Kunstkammer where people would treat it as a by appointment museum and meeting place.  I would provide either odd mixes of teas or permit them to bring their own and use my parlor for contemplation.  The golden goose for me would be to acquire a sizeable grant to increase the collection and revamp our downstairs into something more suitable for a large number of guests.  Is there anyone here who can lend suggestions or, now this would be key, someone who has written and could help me actually write a proper grant to get this underway?
I live in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, I am open to visitors, and I would greatly appreciate your suggestions, help, or comments.

NWOSSOA

Here is one of my newer creations I haven't shown yet.  I love this one because it uses an actual Fossil watch that seems to fit with my cuffs perfect.  The face is a blue that contrasts the brown oil tan leather perfectly.  Click on the photos for more information.

In case you don't know me I am Mr. Arm from the SSOA and I create these type of custom wrist cuffs to order if you are interested.  I have just received a cache of pre civil war clock works with some amazing large gears.  These will go towards future projects.  Please contact me if you are interested: mrarm@thessoa.com or click on the photos of this watch!

NWOSSOA
For those of you close by Pittsburgh and looking for something to do I will be setting up a display at the opening of the Unsmoke Systems Gallery in Braddock, PA. It should be a neat show. Open Bar. It is 15 different artists in an old semi-redone school building from the 18hundreds. I will bring along a selection from my collection and some photos of such. Enjoy. If you click on the flier I provided a larger flier so you can read it. Hope to see some steampunkers there.

I just wanted to show off some more of Faun Graves' cuffs. Her e-mail is kristina@twistedeyephoto.com if you are interested.

LARGER PHOTOS HERE!!! )   Here are some more photos of the cuffs. I hope you enjoy them. I hated to see the second one go. These are all one of a kind, (unfortunatly) and they are extreamly comfortable. Her e-mail is kristina@twistedeyephoto.com if you are interested.

I know, I know. I only put up posts about my own stuff. I am quite proud of this one though. Here is my latest ebay post. And I know that most of you would rather go through Etsy but I am an ebay vet and old habits are hard to break. I also bring you custom pieces by my muse Faun Graves. She has taken to the smaller style of geared cuff and I hope you enjoy them.
